The milestone reflects the continued global growth of Pocket FM, its flagship AI audio drama platform, alongside Pocket Entertainment’s increasing use of AI across content creation, production, personalization and distribution.
“AI fundamentally changes the economics of entertainment businesses. Crossing $500 million in ARR, with a healthy bottom line, is a testament to that. Interestingly, Pocket FM has scaled while improving retention alongside it. That doesn’t happen without having good taste.” Harsha Kumar, Partner at Lightspeed.
Pocket FM remains the primary engine of Pocket Entertainment’s growth. Revenue retention on the platform has increased from 44% to 76%, reflecting stronger and more sustained listener engagement. Strategic licensing and adaptation partnerships have further expanded its content offering, including a collaboration with Disney Publishing APAC that brought 36 iconic Marvel audio series episodes to Hindi-language listeners.
Over the past year, Pocket FM expanded into the UK, Germany and France, broadened its catalog across genres including Thriller and Fantasy, and launched user-generated content in the U.S., significantly increasing the volume and diversity of stories available to listeners.
This scale is translating into a growing portfolio of breakout franchises: 96 titles have each generated more than $1 million in revenue, including 13 that have surpassed $10 million.
Building an AI Entertainment Engine
Pocket FM brings together a global ecosystem of more than 550,000 creators, a purpose-built AI stack and real-time audience insights across creation, production, localization and distribution.
Real-time audience insights help identify stories that are resonating, enabling promising IP to scale faster across audiences and markets. AI reduces the time required to launch in new markets from approximately 12 months to two, allowing successful stories and IP to travel across languages and geographies far more quickly.
The result is a fundamentally different model for creating and scaling entertainment:
- Pocket FM’s creator ecosystem generates more than 2.6 million annualized hours of content.
- The platform’s library has grown to more than 770,000 titles across eight categories.
- English-language originals and adaptations including Saving Nora, The Primal Hunter, The Duke’s Masked Bride and Shadow Slave generate millions of plays, while My Vampire System surpassed 1.5 billion plays.
AI Is Opening Entertainment Creation to a New Generation of Storytellers
“AI is creating an entirely new era of entertainment, one defined by an abundance of high-quality content, the rise of single-person studios capable of creating blockbusters, and experiences hyper-personalized for every individual,” said Rohan Nayak, CEO and Co-Founder of Pocket Entertainment. “We are already seeing creators build stories that generate millions of dollars, something that historically required large studios, big teams, significant budgets and years of production. We believe the next global entertainment phenomenon can come from anywhere, reach millions of people across the world, and still feel uniquely made for each of them. At Pocket Entertainment, we are building the platform for this future, fundamentally expanding who can create, what can be created, and how the world experiences entertainment.”
Pocket FM listeners now spend an average of 155 minutes a day on the platform, with 51% of weekly active users engaging daily.
“I struggled to get my stories published, but now I can see them come to life with Pocket FM,” said Steven Ade, writer and creator. “Pocket FM’s AI creation tools help me develop ideas, build characters and storylines, and turn those ideas into stories much faster. I can spend more time being creative, create more consistently and see my stories reach audiences I never could before.”
