Hi3D today announced the release of Hi3D V1.0 (formerly Sparc3D) under an open-source license, making its 3D AI model – validated for production environments – available to all developers, researchers, and enterprises. Users can access the source code and weights of the model online, as well as generate 3D models for free through the official Hi3D website.

Designed for real-world 3D workflows

Hi3D V1.0 (formerly Sparc3D) gained recognition in 2025 for its high-resolution 3D geometry modeling capabilities. Based on that model, the Hi3D team extended the training dataset and tested it in real production workflows, in order to improve its practical usefulness for its release as open source.

Key capabilities include:

  • Larger-scale training: Expanded the training dataset from approximately 500,000 to two million selected 3D assets.
  • Geometric Reconstruction: Extends progressive geometric reconstruction to an effective sparse grid resolution of up to 1536³.
  • Structural consistency: Preserves fine structures and reinforces geometric coherence across multiple points of view.
  • Practical utility: The highest scores were obtained in multi-view fidelity and richness of detail in the evaluation performed, along with a 90% success rate in the segmentation process.

An open foundation for industrial innovation

By releasing Hi3D V1.0 as open source, Hi3D provides a shared technical foundation for a wide range of applications, including 3D printing, e-commerce and product commerce, industrial design, virtual, augmented and extended reality (VR/AR/XR), animation, film, and more. Enterprises and developers can explore its implementation in private environments, integrate the model into their existing workflows, and create specialized products and services, in accordance with the applicable license.

From an open model to a creator-centric 3D ecosystem

The open-source model is part of Hi3D’s broader vision of building a foundational infrastructure for AI 3D content creation.

Hi3D continues to advance its proprietary model technology. Hi3D V3.0, introduced as the first commercially available AI-based 3D model with a voxel resolution of 2048³, offers greater geometric detail, more coherent complex structures and improved texture quality.

With a focus on the needs of creators, Hi3D has introduced Hi3D Agent – a 3D agent designed specifically for them – along with the integration of Hi3D MCP. Hi3D Agent combines the reasoning power and tooling of Large Language Models (LLMs) with Hi3D’s unique 3D model, simplifying workflows and reducing technical barriers, allowing creators to focus on their creations. Meanwhile, the Hi3D MCP integration makes Hi3D functionalities available to external agents and applications.

In conjunction with the open source release, Hi3D also announced a more than 50% reduction in credit consumption, lowering the barriers to 3D creation and enabling more creators to bring their ideas to life.
