Founded in 2016, Replit has more than 60 million users worldwide, including 85% of the Fortune 500. Today’s launch follows a series of recent announcements from Replit, including a collaboration with OpenAI on its Free Tier mode, continued investments in enterprise-grade security, and the launch of Replit Design, all of which are aimed at expanding the reach of its product.
The company plans to make London the hub of its European operations. It plans to double its headcount and investments in the coming year and significantly strengthen its presence in London as the company continues its global expansion to small and large businesses. Replit already supports a whole series of small businesses that use the platform on a daily basis.
Companies already using Replit across Europe include PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young, Mercedes-Benz Group, TrustPilot and Hg. They join the list of U.S. clients, including Accenture, Visa and Zillow, who use Replit in their day-to-day operations.
Replit also announced a partnership with The Lord Mayor’s Appeal (TLMA) charity, which helps young Londoners who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs). Together, they plan to launch a four-week pilot program over the next few months for 100 youth from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to equip them with essential programming skills that they can use to access jobs and other professional opportunities.
