New campaign encourages safe online practices for students and parents

The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, has launched the campaign “Back to School through a Safe Gateway”, aimed at fostering a strong cyber culture among students, parents, and guardians today. The campaign seeks to encourage the adoption of safe practices in cyberspace to protect against emerging cyber threats, as part of the authority’s ongoing national initiatives to raise cybersecurity awareness across all segments of society.

The campaign focuses on spreading awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and promoting proactive safe online behavior during the academic year. It features a range of educational materials covering key topics, including phishing scams, handling suspicious links that claim to offer fake deals, the importance of using trusted platforms and applications, social engineering, automatic updates, password security, parental controls, and safe internet browsing, among other issues designed to protect individuals from evolving cyber risks.
