Stargate
Stargate UAE is a flagship national AI supercomputing initiative and the first international deployment of OpenAI’s Stargate infrastructure, a global effort to build next-generation AI data centers. Developed in Abu Dhabi in partnership with G42, OpenAI, Nvidia, Oracle, Cisco, and SoftBank, the project will deliver sovereign, secure, nation-scale AI compute to power future AI models and accelerate the UAE’s ambition to become a global AI leader.
MBZUAI Tahnoon bin Zayed Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship aims to provide for approximately 350 outstanding undergraduate students both from within the UAE and abroad over a span of six years. It also aims to reinforce the university’s role as a global destination for specialized education in AI.
Microsoft, BlackRock, Nvidia, xAI Investment (MGX Partnership)
All these major players have formed AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), a consortium formed to invest heavily in data centers and AI infrastructure, recently making their first big move by acquiring Aligned Data Centers for $40 billion, the largest such deal ever, to meet the massive compute demand for AI.
Google Cloud & PIF – AI Hub
Google Cloud and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) entered a partnership to build a global AI hub, backed by a $10 billion investment. The hub, launched with Saudi tech company HUMAIN, will drive AI innovation for regional and U.S. businesses.
$5B AWS / HUMAIN AI Zone
The announcement was about an expanded partnership to establish Saudi Arabia’s first “AI Zone” with up to 150,000 AI accelerators, backed by a strong investment in AI infrastructure and talent development.
$14B Oracle Cloud and AI Infrastructure
Oracle’s commitment to invest USD 14 billion over the next decade to develop cloud and AI infrastructure within Saudi Arabia, emphasizes the competitive race among hyperscalers.
Khazna’s first datacentre in Saudi Arabia
Khazna Data Centres has acquired a 225,000-square-metre land parcel in Dammam to develop up to 200 megawatts (MW) of AI-ready data centre capacity. It is their first-ever project in region of KSA.
