The New UAE Innovators Changing the World

UAE has always placed a great deal of emphasis on empowering its youth and diversifying its economy. As part of the government’s national campaign “The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World”, the UAE Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative has been introduced.  As announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in September 2025, this initiative aims to train 10,000 young Emiratis & and create 30,000 jobs by 2030.

Besides promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, this initiative provides opportunities for Emiratis to establish their own businesses and contribute to the UAE’s thriving startup ecosystem.

Noor Sweid

She is the founder and managing partner of Global Ventures. Aside from being a leading figure in the technology industry, she is a passionate advocate for female entrepreneurs. Her company invests in startup technology in the Middle East. Through her expertise in digital growth, she helps startups grow from small ideas into large and profitable enterprises.

Noor has broken new ground as the first Arab woman to lead an IPO in the region. This marks a significant milestone in the Middle East’s business landscape.  Expanding her influence beyond finance, she also authored Coming of Age, a book that explores how technology and startups are reshaping the region. In addition, she serves on the boards of several global organizations, including MIT Sloan School of Management. This reinforces her impact on the global innovation ecosystem.

Yousef Alsayed and Abdulaziz Bin Mugayel

The young duo created AILA, an AI-driven education platform designed to tailor learning paths to individual students’ needs. In the summer of 2023, while both were still in their early 20s, but with a visionary mindset, AILA was founded to assess students’ strengths, preferences, and paces, delivering personal quizzes, lessons, and insights while reducing administrative burdens on teachers.

Having raised $1.15 million in pre-seed funding from regional venture funds and angel investors at a valuation of $5.5 million, AILA now supports 26,000 students in Saudi institutions and an additional 15,000 learners in Central Asia.
Furthermore, their journey highlights how Saudi-built AI solutions can address global education challenges—enabling personalized learning, reducing dropout rates, and demonstrating how young entrepreneurs can secure funding and achieve adoption beyond their home markets.

Ali Humaid Al Loughani

A young Emirati inventor developed an award-winning healthcare innovation called Doctor Robot. The AI-powered device will revolutionize patient care by allowing the elderly and people with a strong sense of independence to monitor their vital signs and stay in constant contact with their doctors.

It is built with features that bridge the gap between patients and medical professionals, acting as a “doctor for every family”. Despite his young age, Ali has already made a powerful mark on the global STEM stage with his groundbreaking invention. He has earned widespread international recognition. In 2024, he secured a prestigious gold award at the Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival. This was followed by remarkable success at the International Inventions and Trade Expo, where he was honoured with the Leadership Medal along with two gold medals. Further cementing his position as a rising innovator, he also won the Best Innovation Award in the Robotics and AI category at the Best Young Inventors Competition.

Wadeema Alnaqbi and Rawdha Alqasimi

Namir is the first dehydration detection band in the UAE. It was developed by 17-year-old innovators Wadeema Alnaqbi and Rawdha Alqasimi, Namir is the first dehydration detection band in the UAE. It is powered by solar energy and provides personalized insights to help users stay healthy by monitoring hydration levels. With Namir, students, athletes, and professionals can benefit from wearable health technology, AI-driven predictive analytics, and sustainable design.

A few exhibitions have featured it, including one at MIT, highlighting its innovation, impact, and potential for schools, gyms, and healthcare facilities. Innovators and leaders like these demonstrate the power of passion and hard work in realizing dreams.  In addition, they serve as an inspiration for young leaders considering launching their own ventures in the UAE and beyond. As the country embarks on a brighter future, famous Emirati entrepreneurs are launching new ideas and building companies that are making a positive impact around the world.
