The guidelines were officially introduced by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Emma Theofelus, at a launch event held in Ondangwa. Delivering the opening address, Oshana Regional Governor, Hon. Hofni Iipinge, welcomed attendees and highlighted the region’s commitment to supporting the effective rollout of the framework. He emphasized the importance of regional collaboration in ensuring that cybersecurity measures translate into tangible resilience across communities and institutions.
The newly released guidelines establish a structured approach for managing cyber incidents, equipping organizations with clear protocols to identify threats, respond efficiently, and restore operations with minimal disruption. By outlining unified standards and actionable practices, the framework aims to foster stronger coordination among public and private sector entities when addressing cybersecurity challenges.
In her remarks, Hon. Emma Theofelus called on organizations to move beyond reactive measures and adopt a forward-looking, risk-informed strategy. She stressed the need for continuous assessment of potential vulnerabilities and the implementation of comprehensive safeguards to protect critical digital infrastructure.
